Affinity Groups U.S.

Affinity Groups/Programs

Celebrate your uniqueness while discovering common ground.

Different cultures. Different causes. This is where they come together. Our Employee Network Groups (ENGs) are perhaps our most ambitious effort in promoting diversity, making up an invaluable resource that is consulted for ideas, opinions and viewpoints on business initiatives. Moreover, they enrich the concept of community in our business environment, providing a way to network and meet people throughout AstraZeneca.

Below is a list of ENGs that continues to grow.

A diversity of individuals joined by shared causes, and shared cultures.

  • Adoption Network
  • African American Network (AZAAN)
  • Chinese American Network (AZCAN)
  • Eldercare Employee Network (AZEEN)
  • Military Support Community (AZMS)
  • South Asian Network (AZSAN)
  • Gay, Lesbian or Bisexual Employees (GLOBE)
  • Hispanic Employee Network (HiNAZ)
  • Operation’s Women’s Network (OWN)
  • Pan Asian Coalition for Excellence (PACE)
  • Parent Employees of AstraZeneca (PEAZ)
  • Working Parents Network
  • Resourceful AstraZeneca Experienced Representatives (RAZER)
  • Succeeding through our Ability to Gain from Experience (SAGE)
  • Women’s Employee Network (WENG)
  • Women Helping to Inspire, Reach full potential, and Lead (WHIRL)
  • Women in Research & Development (WiReD)
  • Women in Information Services (WISE)

AZ Exchange. Standout employees are nominated to attend this internal meeting and bring their influence to the way AstraZeneca operates. AZ invites people from all areas to discuss any aspects of the business they want to address.

External Diversity Groups. AstraZeneca partners with several diversity initiatives outside of our doors, including InRoads (an internship program for African Americans), LOFT (Latinos on Fast Track), Minority Corporate Counsel Association, the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin, NABA (National Association of Black Accountants), NBMBAA (National Black MBA Association), NSHMBA (National Society for Hispanic MBAs) and many more.

Reaching out to the field. Because most of the groups operate at headquarters, it can be hard for our professionals in the field to participate. That is why the ENGs hold teleconferences to reach out to field employees and bring them into some of the opportunities happening at headquarters. Our employees are also very active in the communities they belong to, often forming teams to participate in health-related community and cultural events.

We operate a preferred supplier list for recruitment agencies and search firms. This list is reviewed periodically, but we are not currently considering adding any new suppliers – and we're continuing our existing policy of not accepting unsolicited CVs from any recruitment agencies or search firms. We'd also ask that you refrain from routinely contacting HR or Procurement within our business units or at a corporate level.
