AstraZeneca’s Commercial Pharmaceutical Finance experts work alongside AZ’s Commercial organisation to help set and achieve accounting and business goals across the globe. We translate the company’s business strategy into on-the-ground commercial targets for more than 65 Marketing Companies and their regional management.
Working closely with senior financial managers in the organization, our objective is to deliver on annual and quarterly commercial budgets for Profit and Loss and Cash Flow. This is far more than simply budgeting, forecasting and performance management. A true understanding of the Global Marketing Sales Organization (GMSO) vision empowers us to deliver insightful analysis to support decision making and improve performance.

Contributing pharmaceutical accounting and financial insights to investment decisions is maximising brands across the lifecycle. At AstraZeneca, we are leading on Lean planning initiatives to help improve the efficiency and effectiveness of process in local markets. By concentrating on adding value to the business, our financial expertise can help local managers push boundaries and promote risk-taking, in the drive to develop and deliver differentiated medicines for better patient health. We support global business development, by maximising resource allocation, enabling the company to expand its reach to new customer segments in priority emerging markets.
