The legal team at AstraZeneca supports the needs of SPBD, Operations, Procurement, IS, HR, R&D, Finance and Compliance. We also have specialist lawyers who advise on competition law and data privacy. Our core purpose is to work with our customers to prioritize and manage areas of high legal risk.
One of the most important assets of AstraZeneca is its Intellectual Property (IP), which includes patents, trademarks, copyright and designs. AstraZeneca needs IP to protect the development of new medicines. The enforcement and defense of our IP is handled centrally by the IP Litigation team within Legal, whose aim is to protect, defend, secure and enhance the value and integrity of AstraZeneca Group assets and business interests.
